Illustration Series - Part 1

These sites showcase an amazing illustrative aspect that enhances the user experience. Some might be familiar to you already, and some might not. Either way, it is worth a look.

Bearskinrug

Kevin Cornell, in my opinion one of the best illustrators on the web. The simplicity of his work, and sheer volume of accompanying illustrations for every blog posting over at A List Apart, is just something to respect.

A List Apart

Why not follow up with another great site that Kevin illustrates for? The site we all know and love, A List Apart.

Daily Candy

I came across this site not too long ago, and was blown away by their excellent knack for design, and supreme use of illustration throughout the entire site.

Superawesome

I have featured their site before in Web Inspiration: Series 1 but just had to bring them back for this series as well.

FreelanceSwitch

Another great site full of resources, but besides all that, they make great use of their little character on most posts. They also have some interesting comics from time to time.

Radiant Plumbing

At first you will probably not be aware that this is a site dedicated to plumbing, until of course you see their clever use of mosaic styled tools throughout the site. Great colors, and a very inspiring layout.

Blue Flavor

Who doesn’t love a good robot inspired site? Heck, who doesn’t just enjoy robots in general? I sure do. So should you.

Great list of sites, but the real reason I’m commenting is that I love the way you made thumbnails of the sites. Great idea to add some buffer space to the right and left of the thumbnails. So often you see a site cropped to the edge, very nice touch.

Hey Brad, thanks for the compliments, and for stopping by. I am not sure if you are familiar with this add-on or not, but this is how I did it:

    Screen Grab!

Really cool plugin for Firefox. Once installed you just go to the site, or page you want to copy, and I used copy > visible portion
